Home Brewing with Mr Brewing

Hey you!

Welcome to Hrbrewing. You can call me Mr Brewing.

So who am I you wonder? Well I’m a home brewing fanatic. I love brewing from beers to wine. This blog is for me to sharing home brewing tips. Like what to do, how to do it.

I’ll always share all my mistakes, so hopefully you want repeat them. Like they say it’s better to learn from someone else’s mistakes, not your own!

As this is my blog, I’ll also be posting about completely random things, like my travels, works and kids.

Yeah I have kids! What did you think? I was some weird home brewing maniac. Well I can be both!

Finding a good car dealership

Finding a good car dealership

Because finding a good car dealership isn’t easy, I decided to do it in the easiest way possible. I didn’t even try .

Let me explain. I had a lot of success selling my car on a car listing website (this one: a few years back when my mom gave me her old Toyota. It was in better shape than my car so I decided to use it until it fell apart and sell the other one. I barely had to deal with anyone, it was great. It was listed and a few people came to test drive it. I just wanted to get rid of it so I sold it to the third person who came to see it because they offered me $50 more than what I was asking for.

Flash forward to now. The car my mom gave me was in fact now falling apart. It was time to find a new one. I decided that buying a car from an online car listing website was the way to go. The one I used collected information from dealerships and online ads. Basically, if it was listed on the internet for sale, it popped up in my search results. And that made everything so easy.

I browsed for about an hour and had a list of 3 strong prospects so I set up some test drives. One was at a used car dealer in the next town over and 2 were from private sellers. Surprisingly, I ended up going with the one from the dealership. I didn’t think I would because I kind of assumed that car dealerships were trying to pull one over on everyone but they made me a great offer. Plus, the warranty was much better. Namely because it existed. That’s the only thing about a private seller that made me nervous, not much of a warranty.

So, in the end, I did most of the car hunting from my bed in my pajamas and on my phone while riding the subway to work. I avoided the whole thing of visiting different dealers and spending a week avoiding their phone calls. I don’t like to feel pressured when I’m buying something, especially something as large as a car. Doing most of the hunting on my own beforehand really made the whole experience all that much more rewarding for me. Plus, I ended up with a car that I just love.

Dash Cam Success – Easiest way to get cheaper auto insurance

Dash Cam Success – Easiest way to get cheaper auto insurance

I got rear-ended at some traffic lights this week, and I was absolutely dreading having to call my car insurance. I’ve not had many incidents, but the last bump I had was a complete nightmare – the person who did it tried to claim I was at fault, and the car insurance company I was with at the time really didn’t want to pay out. I must admit, I was a bit worried this time because I’ve had cheap car insurance no deposit. I know that shouldn’t affect the coverage, but I was in such a panic I started to worry that maybe it would. Luckily, dear wife pointed out that I had a dash cam in the rear window – it was her idea, she’d read about it somewhere and insisted we get one for the front and one for the back.

So we check the footage, and guess what? The idiot behind me was on their phone! Sent a copy of the footage through with my claim, and it was so easy. Proof that they were at fault, not me, and their registration number neatly captured on film. Despite my worries about whether opting for the cheaper plan was going to come back to bite me, it was easier than I’d remembered it being and I’ve got the car booked in next week to fix the dents.

Of course, something had to go wrong – dear wife pointed out that I spent the next three days driving around without the dash cam in because I forgot to put it back. Good job I’m a bit of a paranoid driver, because those days went without incident. Still, it’s now firmly back in its place (out of view, since they’re not the cheapest piece of equipment).

Overall, I’m pretty pleased with how this went- I was having nightmares remembering the last time, and it was just so much smoother than I remember it being! Definitely will be sticking with this policy, and the dash cams, and dear wife’s advice in future. Except when it comes to buying a car – she’d have me choose it on color. She might be the organised one, but when it comes to upgrading, I’ll pick the type and she can choose the paint job.

Who has the cheapest auto insurance? People with Driver-less Cars

Who has the cheapest auto insurance? People with Driver-less Cars

Imagine getting into your car, giving it an address and then just sitting back while it takes you there.

I know what you’re thinking. ‘Why don’t you just take a cab, or call an Uber?’ I’ll tell you why. Because taking cabs everywhere is expensive, and it leads to unnecessary human interaction. Which I prefer to keep to a minimum.

But speaking of expensive (or more to the point, not expensive). Do you know who has the cheapest auto insurance? Well, pretty soon it’s going to be the owners of driver-less cars, or people with very cheap car insurance no deposit

As the laziest human on the planet, if there’s one thing I want. It’s a car that allows me to literally just sit there and do nothing while it takes me from a to b. You know like a taxi but without the awful small talk part.

Imagine driving into someone’s parked car and being able to say it wasn’t your fault, and not be lying. It’s my dream honestly. I usually have to just drive away before anyone sees what I’ve done. Not that I’m hoping to hit another car at all. It would just be nice not to be the one to blame for once.

But the good news isn’t just for irresponsible drivers like myself. Since the vast majority of accidents are due to human error. It’s good news all round. Driver-less cars take away the most dangerous aspect of road travel. The driver. And replace it with technology. Because we all know that never goes wrong.

The only downside I can see to this new automated development is that for me personally. I see bouts of road rage. Mixing with the kind of rage I get when my computer is running slow or my wifi won’t connect. To form some kind of super-rage in my future.

Things That Are Worse Than Payday Loan Companies

Things That Are Worse Than Payday Loan Companies

Payday loan companies have the worst reputation. Like worse maybe than drunk drivers, or actual thieves.

I tried searching the loans places near me and received nothing but an avalanche of hate in return. Even price comparison articles say things like ‘here are the least worst deals’. You know. Just in case people who are in desperate need of money need reminding that they are ‘failing’ at life.

People that take out payday loans probably do it as a last resort. Believe me, after searching for loan companies, they’ll be fully informed on how poor of a decision they’re making.

And OK, if someone is in the position to need to take out a payday loan, then they probably haven’t made the smartest decisions in the past. But once they’re in that place. Then the mistakes have been made, at least give them some non-judgemental information about the topic.

Although you may be lead to believe that people who run payday loan companies are the worst thing to happen to humanity in the history of the world. Believe it or not, I can think of some things that might be considered marginally worse.

Hitler. The whole Holocaust thing and anything related to it. In my opinion, a lot worse than loan companies.

In fact all genocides in general. Khmer Rouge, Mao Zedong, Holodomor, and so on. Are all significantly worse that charging people a high-interest rate on a loan that they voluntarily took out and agreed to.

Slavery, rape, murder, paedophilia, domestic abuse, animal cruelty, racism, homophobia, most of the crimes.

Even people you wouldn’t always consider to be generally ‘bad people’ do worse things to their fellow humans than offer them a payday loan.

Drunk drivers. Dangerous. They kill/injure people. Also worse than loan companies.

Actual thieves. Don’t first help you to pay off your medical bills before they take all of your money. This is also, a worse deal than a payday loan.

There are many many more things I could add to this list. Get some perspective people. So if you want a loan here you go:
